Welcome to a very special edition of “Thoughts Watching…”!
Normally I do these for longer videos, I know. Usually it’s stuff like concerts, TV specials, or movies but honestly these four videos had me so excited I thought I’d bundle them together for one special post. Now in case you’ve been living under a rock, the Boys decided to drop a surprise on us and give us these performance videos for their album A Very Backstreet Christmas. I love that, because spite not getting the credit it deserves, has clearly not been forgotten. Maybe we can manifest getting new content every year for this album, you know…like a Christmas present!
A girl can dream.
Anyway, I have the playlist below so you guys can watch along.

Part One – Silent Night
1. I can’t get over the fact they gave us this. Silent Night is one of my top songs from the album and I love the lullaby feel. Thanks Nick.
2. Brian sounds incredible on this song, generally speaking. Rest does wonders.
3. I love videos that confirms who’s blending with who. I suspected AJ but this isn’t his normal range.
4. Everything has this blue hue and now I want to sing “I’m Blue da ba de da ba da…
5. We need more Kevin and Nick blends. Period.
6. Also where did AJ go? Into the shadows? The abyss?
7. Wherever he went, Brian went too. Bye Brian.
8. Is this was heaven looks like? All five Backstreet Boys harmonizing together in a big build up? I’m convinced it is.
9. It’s snowing! Inside! Um,.,
10. Aww I like seeing Howie front and center.
11. I can’t see it but there’s no damn way they didn’t get some steps for AJ and Brian to stand on otherwise they’d be hidden behind Kevin and Nick
12. When you can see their feet they’re suddenly not lifted up. What the heck. Like it’s fine we know they’re short and can fit into pockets. I just want to know what they used to make them look taller and where did it go???
13. Was it magic? Were they only taller till the stroke of midnight and now they’re shorties again?
13. I have no words for how much I love this video. This whole video was magic.
Part Two – The Christmas Song
1. Well then, good bye colors!
2. I feel like I was thrown back into the 1950s. Sounds nice. Least I could’ve probably afforded a house. But then no internet…nevermind, pretending is enough. I’m good.
3. Ooh Brian sparkles
4. Wait they ALL sparkle!
5. Took me a minute because we’re living in black and white right now.
6. Well, not AJ, he doesn’t have a jacket.
7. He does have a hat. Well, he always has a hat. AJ not having a hat is a rare sighting.
8. AJ went for casual Friday while everyone else dressed up.
9. Videos and moments like this have convinced me Kevin was born in the wrong era. His voice is perfect for music like this.
10. He carries off the old school charm on screen so well.
11. Yeah, swoon. Nick might’ve just killed me.
12. Nick’s always great with the hand gestures.
13. Howie gets so many vocals on this album and honestly he should get more going forward. His range is pretty crazy too when you think about it.
14. The mini-sing off on the riffs here. You have AJ then Nick then Howie, then Brian jumps in, then back to Nick…the best kind of battle is a vocal battle.
15. We all won.
Part Three – I’ll Be Home For Christmas
1. Why are they singing at a coffee shop?
2. How many hats do you think AJ owns? Does he own more hats than shoes?
3. Nick has too many layers on.
4. Imagine going into a local coffee place and this is what you see.
5. Hey Brian has a hat too this time!
6. Aren’t they hot with all these layers?
7. Sing it Brian.
8. Ooh twirling! Legitimately shocked it’s not Nick, but it’s a double twirl!
9. Howie has the least amount of clothes, he won’t overheat.
10. I like Kevin in a beanie and the person who first gave Kevin a trenchcoat should be treasured.
11. Oh let’s go with the group harmony!
12. And a splash of choreography! Okay Boys, I see you.
13. I’d love to go into a shop to find myself Choreo and Coffee… I don’t even drink coffee but that’s really not the point.

Part Four – Happy Days
1. It’s not Nick Carter if he’s not spinning or twirling at least once in one of these videos.
2. Also, are they dancing in another coffee place? Listen…
3. NICK SPARKLES. I want that jacket.
4. Okay now we really do have Choreo and Coffee cause he’s bopping off with a cup in hand.
5. Okay Brian has a fun jacket too. It doesn’t sparkle but he makes a cute Christmas tree.
6. Not a coffee shop but an airport. Can this happen in my airport? I already have one out of five living here.
7. Anyone else wanting to sit in Santa’s lap?
8. I’m fully aware I’m going to hell but admit it, you’re thinking it too.
9. They love to dance and sing in airports don’t day? Tell me why…oops, wrong video.
10. Kevin is the only one dressed normal. Why is that? Don’t you want to sparkle Kevin? I want you to sparkle…
11. They had so much fun doing this.

13. I love watching Kevin do his little groove.
14. I want a present from under Backstreet’s tree.
15. Where are all these presents coming from?

19. They’re having a whole party in this airport. I want to join.
