This week we begin a new era. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, BSB’s new single, is ready to launch. Surreal, isn’t it? It’s been four years since the last and in a lot of ways, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. And I know we’ve had a wild ride during those years. The Boys are back to buzzing all through the media. It’s cool in the eyes of others to be a Backstreet Boys fan again. The Boys may never be on the peak that they were in 1999 and that’s just fine. But they are riding high. There’s crazy levels of interest again. Their Vegas residency broke every record possible. Their cruise this year SOLD OUT. They’re lined up for multiple radio shows. Radio executives are hyped about the idea of BSB coming back. It may not be the 90s anymore, but it feels pretty damn close.
Now, I know we’ve had some downs too in the past year. But forget that. It’s in the past. You know what we have to do. We need to unite as a fandom. As What Happens On The Backstreet so perfectly said, we’re a Fan-mily. Obviously a little dysfunctional, but aren’t all good families? We’ve got this. We’re going to be louder than the haters. We’re going to be louder than the doubters. We’re going to help our Boys back to the top in every possible way we can. Because that’s what we do. We’ve stuck around through everything and we’re not going anywhere. We will drown out anyone who wants to bring us down. That’s just how it’ll be. I have so much faith in us and in our Boys. I’ve never had a reason to doubt either.
We’re about to go into FULL gear on the 17th and dammit, I’m excited. We’re brimming with energy. You can feel the anticipation. I’ve never seen the fandom more determined than we are right now. The Boys say we’re not ready for it. And in a way we’re not, but we’re up to the challenge! We will make this happen and the Boys deserve their time back on top. I know they’ll be there, because we’ve known all along how amazing they are.
So get ready y’all, and buckle in. Because it’s only going to get crazier from here!
