You see it all over the internet.

Whether it’s Twitter (I refuse to call it X), TikTok, Instagram, you name it. You’ve seen all the memes and jokes about Girl Math, Boy Math, Corporate Math, Dog Math, and so and so on. But what about…Fangirl (or Boy) Math? Because I was thinking about it while I was hopping all over the country every two weeks for a certain Backstreet Boy, and explaining to some of my coworkers, why and how I justified it. I mean, it made perfect sense to me. I bet it will to you. So…let’s have at it!

Fangirl Math Is…

If Backstreet Time only delays everything by less than an hour, then BSB is actually on time.

If Nick Carter says soon, well, honestly the math on that varies from a few weeks to several years.

If you’re seeing the show less than three times? You only saw it once.

If there’s new songs on the setlist, you’re seeing an entirely new tour.

If you buy tickets now but the show isn’t for three months or more, the show is free.

If you’re not paying for a hotel room and crashing at a friend’s place, the show is free.

If a Backstreet Boy tells you on social media that you have to go, the show is free.

If you’re going to a show, VIP isn’t a question, it’s a required part of your ticket.

If a Backstreet Boy touches your hand, the show is now free.

If a Backstreet Boy sings to you directly, the show is now free.

If a Backstreet Boy hugs you at VIP, the VIP is now free.

If Nick Carter answers your question at Soundcheck, the VIP is now free.

If a friend gives you an extra ticket to the concert, the flight is now free.

If you’re already own the album and now there’s a new version that has bonus tracks, then the new version is free.

If your BSB merch has free shipping, then it’s basically free.

If your show (god forbid) gets cancelled? Then the new show you buy tickets for, even if it’s for more expensive seats? Guess what? It’s free!

If the concert lands on your birthday? It was a gift.
