Howie! Have a Great Birthday!

As certain Backstreet Boys start creeping towards fifty… (yeah, crazy!) I wonder how it’s possible.

Because said Backstreet Boys don’t age. I’m pretty damn sure Howie found a fountain of youth somewhere in Florida that he’s not telling us about.

How is he forty-six? How?!

But I also want to take a moment to really appreciate Howie here. Because let’s face it, sometimes people forget Howie. People have to be told, Which One He Is but I know. And I’m here to remind you guys (not that you need it) and maybe any newer fans who haven’t been in the game like we have. When you get down to it, Howie is pretty damn awesome. He’s the Backstreet Boy that will ALWAYS be there at the after party, keeping it going. In fact he’ll be the last one to leave! Howie only leaves when the party is OVER. I know we say there ain’t no party like a Backstreet party because a Backstreet party don’t stop…but really there’s no party like a HOWIE D party, okay. As long as he’s there, it’ll keep on raving. It’s amazing.

Howie also has this wicked sense of humor. Sometimes it’s super cheesy and I think he’s the creator of dad jokes. Like the infamous this is Howie do it. But he’s also got some one liners he’ll sneak in at the Boys’ expense, and is downright hilarious if you’re paying attention. He’s also not afraid to poke fun at himself, and make sure not to take himself too seriously…

And his voice? Forget about it. Howie is crazy consistent. He’s always on point. Not to mention he’s got the sort of range no other BSB can reach. It’s pretty damn incredible. Listen to his voice soar when they do Show Me The Meaning live, for example. Then come back and remember what I said. It’s been so wonderful that he’s been given a chance to shine on the most recent albums – like his solo on Breathe.

So thank you Howie. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for always giving your all to the fans. Thank you for all the jokes and goofing around.
