Together we last, divided we fall
Love will conquer all
The world is a scary place right now.
I’m posting this at 9 pm on a Monday night since Blackout Tuesday is happening but I also feel this message is important. I’m not here to talk about what’s going on because honestly if you have the internet or seen the news, we all know. This isn’t so much about that. I’m a firm believer in fandom being a safe space but if you follow me on my personal Twitter then you know my thoughts. I don’t exactly hide them. (If you’d like to help somehow in all this chaos I’ll leave links below). The Boys themselves have been speaking up as well if you take a peak at Kevin’s, AJ’s or Nick’s social media. But all of that said, it’s enough to make anyone feel anxious. Especially when you consider that most states haven’t fully reopened yet. People aren’t all back to work. It makes it so easy to sit at home and think, a lot. I know I do it and I’ve been working this whole time.
2020 has been absolutely insane.
But I’m taking a moment to remind you that no matter who you are, where you are, or what you’re feeling? You are not alone. You are loved. You are special. You are part of this crazy family we call the BSB fandom. I want you to know that it’s okay to feel whatever it is you’re feeling. It’s okay. It’s scary. I worry about so many right now. My coworkers, my friends that have been protesting, my family. This is normal. It’s okay to feel. Do not judge yourself for doing so. Acknowledge your feelings.
I want to remind you of something else. I’ve said this before too. PRACTICE SELF CARE. Because everything that’s happening is just a lot. Turn off the news. Get off Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. If BSB are your joy and happy place, which I’ll assume they are if you’re here – perfect! Go play their music. Watch random crazy interviews. Put on a concert DVD. Whatever it takes! Do not feel guilty for doing so either. Your mental health is important and who cares what it is that keeps you sane right now? Let fandom be your escape from the craziness reality has brought us this year. That’s okay. In fact you should. Everyone needs breaks.
Fandom is a safe space. Reach out to other fans if you have to. We’ll come together for you. We’ll help however we can. It may be something small like reminding you you’re loved, or contributing in bigger ways. Who knows. But we’ll do whatever we can. Because we’re connected by a love of a music group that’s always made us happy. We all have our differences – some visible and some not. But that’s what makes us beautiful. So please, do whatever you need to do to be okay. But if you’re suffering, do not suffer in silence. Remember you are not alone. Thousands of fans around the world are there for you. Reach out. I know I’ll be there, along with so many others.
We’re all in this together.
Money can’t buy lives
Sunny days for you
Living is more than profits accrued
We need to love and be loved
And brought in the things we are thankful of
Remember your brothers and sisters
Because we are all in this together
